the long way around

My friends from high school
Married their high school boyfriends
Moved into houses in the same ZIP codes
Where their parents live

But I, I could never follow
No I, I could never follow

I hit the highway in a pink RV with stars on the ceiling
Lived like a gypsy
Six strong hands on the steering wheel

I've been a long time gone now
Maybe someday, someday I'm gonna settle down
But I've always found my way somehow

By taking the long way
Taking the long way around
Taking the long way
Taking the long way around

I met the queen of whatever
Drank with the Irish and smoked with the hippies
Moved with the shakers
Wouldn't kiss all the asses that they told me to

No I, I could never follow
No I, I could never follow

It's been two long years now
Since the top of the world came crashing down
And I'm getting' it back on the road now

But I'm taking the long way
Taking the long way around
I'm taking the long way
Taking the long way around
The long
The long way around

Well, I fought with a stranger and I met myself
I opened my mouth and I heard myself
It can get pretty lonely when you show yourself
Guess I could have made it easier on myself

But I, I could never follow
No I, I could never follow

Well, I never seem to do it like anybody else
Maybe someday, someday I'm gonna settle down
If you ever want to find me I can still be found

Taking the long way
Taking the long way around
Taking the long way
Taking the long way around

the long way around - the dixie chicks

Two things today/this morning/night:

1. All those people who go to church and spend every waking moment attempting to please God/Jesus/Allah/higher religious figure. STOP IT. There are things that matter so much more in this world. Instead of praising for yourself through verbal prayer PRAY through action. take care of your neighbor. donate a dollar to charity. make your voice heard. talk to your long lost friend/family member.

STOP LIVING LIFE FOR THE FUTURE. LIVE TODAY. IF THE FUTURE GETS FUCKED UP, YOU STILL HAVE TIME TO FIX IT.

2. if anyone knows a hole i can crawl into and chill, please let me know

Revealing Russia

The latest verbal spat between Putin and Cheney has made me realize something. We are going to blow ourselves up. By "we" I don't mean America. I mean the world (well just the major powers who are the so-called protectors of the world). Putin compared America's current government to a wolf who does not listen. "Comrade wolf knows whom to eat, he eats without listening, and he clearly not going to listen to anyone" said Putin. Obviously, he was commenting on what appears to be the current U.S. foreign policy of pretty much doing whatever the hell we want without regard to the ideas of other nations or the current laws of the world.

Where I began to think that we are going to blow ourselves up, was when Putin made the comment on how Russia "also must make [their] house strong and reliable" with regards to military spending (Russia's is currently 25 times lower than America's). With that idea in mind, Putin and Russia are beginning to bolster their military in order to prevent themselves from being pushed around. If they are successful in doing this it will open an already open door even wider. Countries around the world are tiring of America's "policeman of the world" attitude and in the future will not hesitate to stand up if they see previous success.

I have included a little video that many people have seen before, but sadly enough it might come true.

Bush's Lies

"And a victory in Iraq will make this country more secure and will help lay the foundation of peace for generations to come," he told reporters.

No it won't. It continues to be beyond me as to why no one can get this! America can't do that for them, they have to do that for themselves. The natural tendency of democracy and capitalism is to create a selfish desire for more. If the Iraqi's want freedom, its their responsibility to go and get it. Foreign nations should only intervene only as the final push for success. To see this in action, look at America's Revolution. The American people started it and only enlisted foreign help when we need the last push to get over the hump (The French came). The French people created their own freedom in 1789 and 1793 through self-revolt. Apparently, history means nothing to the man running our country...afterall he is an Ivy Leaguer...he is brilliant right? Right?

Tired

So tired of crying "bye"
So tired of endless pain
My heart can't do it
It wants to cry its tears
It hurts too much to bleed like that
It swallows the red pain instead
It hopes to see you again

Only to lose you again
Only to bleed again
The circling pain grips my heart
I have to cry
It hurts
It hurts not to
It hurts to
I don't know
My mind wanders
Lost in a world of foreign love
Detached and broken at the fingertips
Not by choice, but by time's viscious whim

Revolution

It is time for America to return to its roots. The one's our Founding Fathers envisioned when they began the fight for freedom. I can for certain tell you that a corrupt government of greed is not what they so wonderfully dreamed as the wrote the famous words that began our Nation.

Our nation has outgrown its original ideals. Our Fathers never envisioned how large our nation would be and how powerful it would become. Little did they know that their 13 states would soon become the 50 most powerful states in the world. Little did they know how the dollar sign would rule.

It is ridiculous that the average man in America CANNOT run for President. Why? Not because he is unqualified. Not because he doesn't have a solid campaign. No, it is because he lacks the MILLIONS of dollars required to even get your name on the ballot. After this casualty what is America left with to represent itself? The rich and disconnected.

Does any American that makes less than a million dollars a year actually believe that George W. Bush (or John Kerry for that matter) actually understand their life? NO! He enjoys life from behind his desk in the oval office, behind a wall of security that is supposed to protect him from harm. Ironically enough, those American citizens which he is so disconnected from were the ones who protected him on that fateful day in September 2001.

Remember those 13 original states. Remember the original goals of our country so beautifully written in our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution. Remember that what makes America is you. The individual soul of every person, rich or poor, is the very HEART of our great nation. Don't let the greed of the rulers rule.

XU vs. UC

Well its been a while since I last posted, but I thought I would make a return today, the day after the Xavier-UC game, which was one hell of a game. Hard fought the whole way, with each team taking their shots (and missing many many of them). It came down to a 6 point lead for X in the final minute....safe right? Think again. UC drilled two 3-pointers to tie it up and force overtime. Cintas was going ballistic. Even the old-geezers were screaming their heads off. It was time to defeat the convicts at UC and sure enough they did. Another hard fought over time resulted in Xavier pulling away on two free throws by Doellman and Burrel to create a final score of 73-71 in favor of X! So put short and sweet.

XAVIER - 73
sUCks - 71

Pictures to follow!
